In 1973, David and Francine Abraham, under the trade name Musicare Inc. opened a band instrument repair shop in Ottawa, ON. David had trained as a repair technician in the USA under the direction of Bob Getzen at Allied Music Corporation. In 1975, the business moved to its current location on Anderson Road, Carlsbad Springs, ON.
In 1982, Musicare expanded its rental, repairs and sales operations to include more school districts in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. It also became the dealer representative and repair warranty center for many leading instrument manufacturers.
Thanks to the word of satisfied customers, military bands, police bands, school bands, orchestras, marching bands, Salvation Army bands, private musicians, and school band rental parents came to Musicare.
In the mid-1990s, our son Andrew joined the business as a sax and percussion repair technician. Today, and proudly, he does a great job caring for Musicare and its many clients.
Sadly, Francine passed away in 2015. However, her mark on the business will always remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
