Serial: 74818

Vintage professional French-made model.  Serial #: 74818.  Circa late 1958.  Original gold lacquer with minimal wear; typical spots on spatulas, thumb hook and within engraved sections of the bell and bow.  Some key cups from past repairs had slight “burn bubbles” but no burns or lacquer peel.  The neck shows most of the lacquer wear, likely from not being stored in the dedicated compartment but mixed in with the lyre and a metal hook strap. There are no significant dents, only two tiny impressions on the inside of the bow.  The bell lip has a past repair; only the lacquer blemish shows evidence of the bend.  There is no damage to the body or keywork.  The only sign of structural repair is the Eb guard upper flange on the band.   This horn is 100% playable; the lower half of the instrument was re-padded at some point using good quality tan-kid leather pads and conical plastic boosters.  The upper half has older mixed pads,  all sealing but showing signs of age.  Tune-up performed pre-listing ensuring proper playability; a dedicated player may choose a rebuilt top-to-bottom.   The neck appears original (no serial number) and has no damage or pull-down.  The original wood shell case is in excellent condition with no smell or damage – just typical exterior scuffs.   The main handle has some wear and tear, but it is functional. There are a few stickers and labels on the case exterior.   The metal zipper works beautifully all the way around, and the swing catch for the compartment lid is perfect.  Outfit includes a vintage neck strap, older Yamaha 7C mouthpiece kit, reed & cork grease, marching lyre and original wooden end plug.  Ready to Play.  For more information, please get in touch with our sales office.
